Description

  • This position is designed to directly support students and the Coordinator, Proctoring Services by prepping and administering (proctoring) a variety of tests: course/ course related tests, placement tests, CLEP, GED, Firefighter, Proficiency, and outside institution tests. This position is an integral point of contact for new and current students in addition to serving as a faculty liaison. The Proctoring Specialist prioritizes connecting with parties in a meaningful, trauma-informed way to promote a sense of belonging on campus. They are responsible for managing and maintaining test security, confidentiality and upholding the integrity of the Testing Center. Position is not benefit eligible.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 1.Proctors Accuplacer Assessment in-person, and manages/explains score reports to help move students to the next step. 2.Supports student/ CCMEP staff in learning testing protocols.3.Responsible for administering a variety of academic and specialty tests to students with and without disabilities both virtually and in-person.4.Manages testing appointments, Outlook calendar, testing email inbox and phone calls/voice messages.5.Maintains positive rapport with faculty, staff and students.6.Creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for testers.7.Attention to detail and timeliness in test preparation, administration and returning materials to faculty. 8.Answers phones, accessing and responding to voicemail quickly and efficiently. 9.All other duties assigned by supervisor.

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Testing Center experience preferred

  • One to Three years' experience working in a fast-paced office environment

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • GED Examiner Certification (can be obtained on job)

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, faculty, and students.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statisical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The work is performed in an office-like environment with a minimal amount of noise. Position is not eligible for benefits.
