Job title: Process Operator

About the Role Roquette is hiring a Process Operator at the Plaquemine Methocel Plant. The role involves operating assigned equipment and processing areas, applying chemical manufacturing knowledge to run and troubleshoot the plant in a safe, efficient manner within a 24-hour operation and rotating 12-hour shifts.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and control processes: Oversee the operation of machinery and equipment by monitoring temperature, pressure, and flow rates both in the field and on the DCS to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance to prevent delays, identify process abnormalities, equipment malfunctions, and system alarms.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, including emergency actions, to minimize risk to personnel, environment, and equipment.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed operation logs, track production metrics, and note deviations from standard processes.
• Process Optimization: Adjust control settings to optimize production efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Quality Control: Monitor key variables to ensure product quality and process efficiency, adjusting as needed.
• Startup and Shutdown: Execute plant startup, shutdown, and isolation procedures safely, following SOPs and emergency protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent, degree in Process Technology, or at least 2 years of operations experience.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and technical abilities; ability to interpret complex process data, identify anomalies, and implement corrective measures.
• Team and Communication: Ability to multitask, prioritize daily activities, and collaborate with other team members and departments; may train new staff in SOPs and equipment.
• Certifications and Licensing: Current valid US driver’s license; TWIC card.
• IT Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency to perform job tasks.
• Hiring Process and Compliance: Willingness to participate in and be successful in an interview process; complete and pass drug screen, background check, and physical screen.
• Work Environment: Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; cover in an on-call rotation; and operate in potentially hot, cold, loud environments while wearing PPE.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: The starting pay range is $33.00-$41.56 per hour, with potential eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation.
