Process Intelligence & Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

About the Role Data integration and modelling: identify source-system tables and fields that need to be brought into Celonis; build and maintain the extractions, transformations (ETL) and Celonis data models for each Customer Service process, spanning ticketing, order management, and payment/refund data.

Automation development: design, build, and operate production automations on the Celonis platform (Action Flows and Process Orchestrator) that execute real customer outcomes (e.g. end-to-end refund handling), including API calls into Flix backend systems and integrations with AI-driven customer contact channels (chatbot, voicebot).

Reliability and guardrails: your automations move real money; build for scalability, error handling, monitoring, auditability, and safe rollout of changes. Insourcing and takeover: take over data models and automation logic built by an external implementation partner (reverse-engineer, document, harden, and extend them as the in-house owner). Collaboration: work daily with business users who own rules and business logic, the Data Analyst who owns dashboards and process mining, and IT engineering who own system integrations, security, and scalability. Documentation: document all technical and data requirements and all ETL and automation work to Centre of Excellence standards, so nothing you build depends on you being in the room. What You'll Do

• Insourcing and takeover: reverse-engineer and extend data models and automation logic from external partner; own them in-house.
• Collaboration and documentation: work with business users, Data Analyst, and IT engineering; document technical and data requirements to Centre of Excellence standards. What We're Looking For
• Automation platform experience: 3+ years building production automations on process orchestration or automation platforms; Celonis is a strong plus; experience with n8n, Camunda, UiPath, Power Automate, Make also relevant. End-to-end delivery beat certifications.
• Production ownership at scale: shipped solutions handling 1M+ transactions annually; able to discuss failures and fixes.
• Data fundamentals: SQL and data modelling basics; identify case IDs, control grain in joins, validate data models against sources.
• Scripting: Python or similar a plus but not required; comfortable using AI tooling to fill gaps.
• Enterprise systems and integration literacy: solid understanding of CRM, ticketing, order management, ERP; data structures, process flows, and business logic; integration patterns with REST, SOAP APIs, authentication, webhooks, rate limits, JSON/XML.
• Hybrid profile: roughly 70/30 technical-business; gather requirements and explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Communication: clear written English; artefacts that others can use.
• Conversational automation: experience connecting automation workflows to chatbot or voicebot platforms is a plus.
