About the Role Within the operations department and reporting to the Continuous Improvement Lead, this role focuses on improving the efficiency of our plant manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles. You will investigate top production losses and customer and internal complaints, identify root causes, and design effective preventative actions to prevent recurrence. Knowledge gained will be documented in production standards and trained to operators to build team self-sufficiency. What You'll Do
- Lead continuous improvement activities across all plant and equipment areas using Define, Measure, Analysis, Improvement and Control (DMAIC) methods.
- Investigate root causes of top production losses and customer/internal complaints; implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the process engineer, quality team, engineering team, and operators; document learnings into production standards and train operators to foster self-sufficiency.
- Manage on-site projects: 5S, SMED, Autonomous Maintenance, Centre-lining, and Process Control Automation; on-site machine installation qualifications including Factory Acceptance Test, Commissioning, and Team Training.
- Support New Product Introduction: trials of new materials and products at manufacturing level.
- Challenge operations staff to safely deliver quality products on time, every time.
- Report to the site Continuous Improvement Lead with a dotted line to the Quality Manager; interact daily with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Supply Chain, sister plants, and Suppliers.
- Opportunity to grow into a larger UK-based role to support succession development.
- Key activities: develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the site; lead improvement activities across plant and equipment areas using Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control; manage customer and internal complaints by recording, investigating, and solving root causes (using Agile/Excel).
