Job title: Process Engineer
About the Role Syensqo Specialty Polymer Italy is seeking a high-potential chemical engineer to develop, design or optimize processes for existing or new products in the Specialty Polymer portfolio. The role combines technical depth with efficient time management and strong communication to support growth, sustainability and industrialization initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead site-based Process Engineering projects and activities driving continuous improvement, sustainability, new product industrialization and capacity expansions.
- Contribute to improve the performances of existing installations, also participating in capacity optimization and waste reduction projects.
- Lead new product industrialization and scale-up projects from our Research & Innovation team including handoff and training to the operations team.
- Lead new equipment and processes start-up. Provide process expertise for equipment design and act as a key contributor to capital project execution.
- Support operations to resolve recurring process problems and provide robust process solutions.
- Promote an observable culture of process safety and quality within their organizational control.
What We're Looking For
- Master Degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Previous professional experience in process design and development is a plus.
- 0-5 years of working experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task.
- Expertise in process simulations and calculations on unit operations to prepare technical documentation, including heat and material balances, P&ID, equipment and instrument specifications.
- Strong attention to details.
- Understand key operational metrics and communicate across organization to achieve clear alignment and focus; ability to engage cross-functional teams to solve quality and process capability problems.
- Good communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
- General comfort level with IT applications.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Knowledge of radical polymerization and fluorine organic chemistry is a plus.
- Flexibility to travel to other locations as required by the projects.

Compensation & Benefits
- Italian annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is between €40,000 and €55,000 (actual compensation determined based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal equity). Travel flexibility to support project needs may apply.
