About the Role Role Purpose: Works with team members to solve difficult technical, engineering-related problems. Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions, and cost reduction projects. Supports drive to fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives. Supports the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology or improvements in existing technology resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost. Understands Corning's Intellectual property management processes and follows that process in documenting any intellectual property developed as part of a project. What You'll Do
- Provides day-to-day problem solving support to production.
- Functions as a team member on focused projects in Corning.
- Support process development and optimization efforts.
- Support rebuild and expansion projects with occasional off-shift duty by 30%~40%.
- Provide trouble shoots to process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and corrective actions.
- Supports new technology migration through equipment installation, process optimization and documentations.
- Assist on data analysis for key decision of process engineering activities (experiment, development, etc.). What We're Looking For
- BS above degree and major in engineering (prefer Chemical or Material engineering) with more than 2 years related working experience.
- Good English proficiency in writing, listening and speaking; TOEIC 550 is a plus.
- Understand process control concepts, and capable of process data analysis.
- Skills in Windows Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Good communication, coordination, and follow-up ability.
- Report & presentation skills.
- Safety awareness.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools and hands-on experience applying them in work processes.
- Project management skills.
- Experience implementing DMAIC methodology and leading Six-Sigma projects.
- Ability to use simple statistical tools and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Sense of urgency and creativity to handle project issues and adapt plans to meet objectives.
