Job title: Probation Services Internship
About the Role The New Jersey Judiciary’s Office of Probation Services offers internship for undergraduate students to gain experience with evidence-based practices and training development in the probation system. The internship provides exposure to planning and implementing training programs, including video production and online learning, to support Probation Division staff.
What You'll Do
- Assist in planning and organizing training events for probation staff
- Observe and participate in the development of online training
- Record video footage for online training
- Assist in video editing and production for online learning
- Conduct research on training topics
- Perform computer-related work
- Perform special projects
- Collect and enter data
- Assist staff as directed
- Regular and predictable presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
What We're Looking For
- Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree or certificate in Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related field
- Unofficial transcript must be included in your application
- Interest or experience in training development and video editing is helpful
- Regular and predictable presence at the worksite is an essential function
- Ability to perform work requiring climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching; ability to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing 30-50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Driver's license valid in New Jersey if operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform tasks
- Authorization to work in the US; US citizenship is not required
- Willingness to undergo a thorough background check including fingerprinting
Nice to Have
- Experience or interest in training development and video editing is helpful
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate of $20.00; maximum 35 hours per week; not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year; minimum of 10 hours per week
