About the Role Logan Health Children’s has an opportunity for a PRN RN to join the inpatient pediatrics team in Kalispell, MT. The 12-bed Pediatric Unit provides high-quality pediatric care in a family-centered environment. This PRN role supports our mission of compassionate care with a team-driven nursing culture.

What You'll Do

  • Develops, implements and coordinates individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process for assigned area(s).
  • Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently; consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care.
  • Adheres to infection control policies; maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Documents encounters per organizational standards and communicates effectively with patients, families and the care team.
  • Educates patients and families about health and medical needs per protocol; assesses and anticipates patient needs and coordinates interventions.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment, prioritizes and remains calm under changing workloads.

What We're Looking For

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana; required.
  • BSN degree preferred; minimum two years’ experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and nursing practice; RQI Provider (BLS) required within 7 days of hire/transfer.
  • PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer; APHON within 1 year.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality; OSHA regulations compliance; ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.

Nice to Have

  • BSN degree preferred (already stated); advanced certifications and pediatric inpatient experience are desirable.
