Job title: PRN Occupational Health Nurse
About the Role Cape Fox subsidiary Concentric Methods, LLC is seeking a PRN Occupational Health Nurse to support the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services in Camp Springs, MD. This role requires experience in Occupational Health, ER, Urgent Care, or Public School nursing. The position is non-exempt and paid hourly; the total hourly pay is $50.09 ($45.00 base + $5.09 Health & Welfare).
What You'll Do
- Provide routine adult immunizations according to CDC guidelines.
- Possess knowledge of occupational health program medical examinations for pre-employment, fitness for duty, medical surveillance, special duty certification, and job certification requirements.
- Develop and perform necessary skills to conduct vision screenings, audiograms, and spirometry; recognize evidence of possible occupational illness or injury.
- Conduct health screenings including vision, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and other heart disease risk factors.
- Administer medicines/treatments authorized by a physician/physician assistant for work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses with appropriate consultation and referral.
- Follow up on occupationally related medical illnesses, injuries, accident and incident reports, and overall employee medical status.
- Recognize insidious health effects from long-term exposure to toxic chemicals or harmful agents and plan screening tests to identify changes before disease occurs.
- Develop, coordinate, update, and implement health education on an individual or group basis through counseling and lectures/group dynamics.
- Conduct individual/group counseling and health education programs; prepare materials, teach safe working practices, and promote preventive medicine.
- Participate in occupant emergency planning as clinic staff.
What We're Looking For
- Three (3) years total nursing experience with at least two (2) years in Occupational Health, ER, Urgent Care, or Public School nursing.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total hourly pay: $50.09 (base $45.00 + $5.09 Health & Welfare per hour for up to 40 hours per week as required by SCLS).
