Job title: PRN - EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
About the Role The PRN - EMT will provide emergency medical care and assist in ambulance transports at Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center in Odessa, WA. This on-call role supports local EMS and field operations with weekly on-call rotations and requires readiness to respond within 10 minutes driving distance.
What You'll Do
- Performs basic and/or intermediate life support and patient care in pre-hospital/emergency settings.
- Assist medical providers during ambulance runs to get patients to the care center.
- Respond to EMS incidents and operate radio/communications equipment professionally.
- Follow Lincoln County EMS Field Protocols and Department of Health guidelines; utilize medical control systems and equipment.
- Restock, inventory, clean and disinfect EMS equipment and vehicles; maintain kits; perform general housekeeping.
- Complete medical records and reports accurately and legibly.
- Work with volunteer fire department staff; assist in evacuations and extrications as needed.
- Participate in annual mandatory training and CPR; maintain on-call readiness.
- When on-call, remain within 10 minutes driving distance and arrange replacements if unable to work.
What We're Looking For
- Current EMT Certification in the state of Washington.
- Current CPR certification/training.
- Documentation of 7 hours AIDS training.
- Ability to follow detailed scope of practices and Lincoln County EMS Field Protocols.
- Ability to stay calm and decisive in high-stress situations; strong communication and teamwork.
- Ability to complete and maintain accurate medical records and reports.
- Willingness to respond to emergencies in a timely manner; on-call availability and reliability.
- Must be able to work with on-call schedule and wear appropriate safety protocols.
Compensation & Benefits
- On-call hours paid at $4.50 per hour; call-in time paid at $20.00 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours paid.
