Location: Bedford, MA - Hybrid need Duration: 4 months Hour: 40 Pay: 75-78/hr

Position Summary The Principal Workday HCM Analyst is a senior individual contributor responsible for the configuration, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday platform. This position has no direct people-management responsibilities and is intended for a deeply experienced Workday professional who remains highly hands-on.

The Principal Analyst serves as a senior Workday subject matter expert and escalation point for complex configuration, business process, security, reporting, and data issues. The role independently translates business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and operates in an environment where Workday configuration and administration are managed internally without reliance on an external managed-services provider.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a senior hands-on Workday HCM subject matter expert and escalation point for complex system issues.
  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Workday HCM functionality.
  • Translate business requirements into effective and scalable Workday solutions.
  • Configure and optimize Workday Business Processes, including condition rules, validations, approvals, routing, notifications, and related configuration.
  • Configure and maintain Workday security, including security groups, domain security, Business Process security, and role-based access.
  • Build, test, and execute EIBs supporting employee transactions and high-volume data changes.
  • Execute and support mass transactions including hires, terminations, job changes, organizational changes, compensation changes, and other employee data updates.
  • Develop complex Workday reports, including Advanced and Matrix reports.
  • Build and maintain calculated fields, dashboards, alerts, and other Workday reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Perform data audits, reconciliations, validation, and corrective actions to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration, Business Process, security, reporting, and data issues through resolution.
  • Evaluate Workday releases and new functionality, perform impact assessments and testing, and recommend opportunities to improve existing configuration and processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency, scalability, and user experience of Workday.
  • Partner with HR, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders on Workday requirements and solutions.
  • Maintain appropriate configuration documentation, testing protocols, change controls, and system governance.
  • Serve as a Workday subject matter resource to HR and business stakeholders.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • 8+ years of significant progressive HRIS experience with deep hands-on Workday HCM expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently configure, administer, and support Workday in a complex business environment.
  • Advanced Workday Business Process configuration experience.
  • Advanced Workday security configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience building and executing EIBs and high-volume data loads.
  • Demonstrated experience executing mass employee transactions, including hires, terminations, job changes, organizational changes, and compensation updates.
  • Advanced Workday reporting experience, including Advanced and Matrix reports, calculated fields, and dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of Workday foundational configuration, including supervisory organizations, positions, job profiles, compensation structures, and organizational structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to data integrity, controls, and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical Workday configuration and process solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

  • Ideally candidates have a completed Associates or Bachelors in an Analytical / Technical field.
