About the Role Silvus Technologies is seeking a Principal System Integration and Test Engineer to join the Irvine team. You will conduct system integration and test engineering across HW/SW products, define and test new features, and support customers and sales engineering with technical testing and debugging. This 100% onsite role requires up to 25% travel and close collaboration with design, sales, and product engineering teams. What You'll Do
- Design and test complete solutions using Silvus hardware and software products to solve technical problems.
- Prepare integration test plans and execute them, including embedded firmware, hardware, and product-level testing.
- Define new products and features, perform evaluations and field tests for new features and accessories.
- Respond to internal and customer requests with debugging, systems integration engineering, and technical analysis, in person or remotely.
- Test and harden existing features via firmware and hardware changes in realistic applications.
- Support the Sales Engineering team for demonstrations, training, testing, and reproducing field bugs.
- Create and maintain customer-facing documents (manuals, user guides, videos, application notes) to support customers and internal teams.
- Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally for in-person engineering support. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus at least 10 years of embedded firmware development and testing experience (embedded Linux, C/C++, Python) or 8+ years with an advanced degree.
- Proficiency with lab instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers).
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- Experience with wireless and radio communication systems, RF signal propagation principles, and digital communication technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP networking.
- Excellent organizational skills, attentiveness to details, and ability to multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
