About the Role

The Principal Solutions Engineer, Strategic (German Speaking) is a senior pre-sales role within Atlassian's Solutions Engineering team, partnering with Enterprise Sales & Channel Partners to understand complex customer needs and demonstrate value across Atlassian products. You will conduct thorough customer discovery, deliver tailored product demonstrations, develop PoC environments, and lead workshops while staying current on Atlassian's roadmap and competitive differentiators. Fluency in German and English is required.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough customer discovery to assess challenges, business goals, and technical requirements, identifying opportunities for cross-product and solution expansion.

• Deliver tailored, engaging product demonstrations that address objections, connect technical capabilities to business needs, and use storytelling to align with the customer's vision.

• Develop proof-of-concept environments and lead interactive workshops to showcase product features and workflows aligned with customer goals.

• Continuously enhance technical expertise by staying updated on Atlassian's roadmap, pursuing certifications, and refining pre-sales knowledge and processes.

• Collaborate with internal teams, account managers, and product stakeholders to drive transformation deals, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with customer objectives.

• Build a robust understanding of competitors' offerings and articulate Atlassian's differentiators in competitive scenarios.

• Experiment with innovative pre-sales approaches to enhance customer engagement.

• Be willing and able to travel occasionally.

• What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in sales engineering, with at least four years covering large strategic accounts.

• Experience communicating and presenting to senior stakeholders, including executive leadership.

• Proactive, collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset; strong team player.

• Outstanding communication skills across oral, written, and presentation formats; ability to build genuine relationships.

• Curiosity, solutions-focus, and passion for technology and knowledge sharing.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

• Be fluent in German and English.

• Willing and able to travel occasionally.
