We’re seeking a Principal Project Manager to join our facilities engineering department. The Principal Project Manager oversees highly complex design and construction projects. Projects include renovation and repurposing of existing space and may include complete design and construction of new buildings. Applies well developed and broad functional knowledge in a wide variety of complex situations on teams within IOPS.

Discover your role:
- Utilizes a high level of expertise in facility systems, designs, and operations to manage complex design and construction projects with minimal supervision
- Proactively identifies and addresses issues throughout a project life cycle to minimize impact to cost and schedule
- Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematic, preliminary and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of new or remodeled facilities
- Estimates cost of projects, writes contracts and specifications for labor materials, and equipment for construction projects, and secures bids from contractors
- Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning changes in contract documents and ensures that authorized changes are implemented, in accordance with federal, state, and local building codes
- Consults with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors regarding preliminary layout, construction procedures, and code requirements that apply to building projects
- Manages cost, schedule, and scope of facilities related projects including renovations, new equipment installs, and new construction
- Coordinates projects with other departments to minimize risk and impact to existing and ongoing operations
- Compiles required documents for seamless turnover of new or renovated space/equipment to area managers and facilities for maintenance
- Supports equipment qualification efforts and executes new equipment commissioning
- Enters data for new area/equipment into existing quality systems and databases as needed
- Coordinates any necessary specialized training for new systems and equipment
- Completes complex analysis and determines project feasibility and design requirements
- Inspects existing facilities to ascertain their condition
- Prepares reports depicting the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs, and estimated cost of repairs
- Designs, prepares, and/or reviews plans of construction projects
- Provides recommendations on growth direction with supporting justification
- Provides mentorship of junior and mid-level; manages a team of contractors
- Designs and implements work in compliance with all safety, site cleanliness, and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP’s)
This role requires:
- BS in Engineering, Construction management or other related field and 8+ years of relevant experience
Salary Range (annually) 103,300.00 - 168,500.00
