Job title: Principal Project Manager (Banking/Investment Management)

About the Role SimCorp seeks a Principal Project Manager to lead highly complex implementation projects for our banking and investment management clients. The role focuses on client engagement, resource and financial management, and stakeholder alignment to deliver customer value while reducing risk for the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the execution of complex projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, client expectations, and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budgets, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient and effective task execution.
  • Oversee identification and management of project risks, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders and senior leadership to provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor and report on project performance using key metrics, making adjustments to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management practices, implementing best practices and refining processes for efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project managers, encouraging collaboration and sharing expertise.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Thorough understanding of clients’ business processes across asset managers, fund managers, banks, insurers and pension plans.
  • Expertise in managing and delivering multi-stream projects in complex business settings.
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to motivate and engage employees.
  • Ability to build and develop solid customer relationships.
  • Ability to make sound decisions by balancing quality, cost, risk and resources.
  • Great time management, prioritization, planning, execution, and coordination skills.
  • Caring attitudes and the capacity to hear what others say.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in negotiation, advocacy, and managing conflicts.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • PMI/Prince 2 or equivalent certification.
  • Readiness to travel to customer sites with flexibility to work from home or remote from our offices.
