About the Role Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) drives Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and Intelligent Cloud mission. The Principal ML Architect will lead the design and delivery of machine learning architectures that power Microsoft’s data centers and silicon ecosystem. This role sits within SCHIE, which provides core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud platforms. What You'll Do
- Lead design and delivery of ML architectures for silicon, hardware accelerators, and cloud-scale infrastructure.
- Collaborate with hardware, silicon, software, and platform teams to integrate ML models into Microsoft’s cloud stack.
- Define technical direction for ML systems including performance, reliability, and security across data centers and hardware.
- Mentor engineers and drive adoption of ML best practices across teams. What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in machine learning systems architecture and deployment at scale across hardware and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with hardware/silicon teams and data center ecosystems.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership across cross-functional teams.
- Track record leading complex ML projects from concept to production.
