About the Role Amgen is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join the Forecasting team within the AI & Data Science organization. The role will set technical direction, design, build, deploy, and scale enterprise-grade ML, LLM, and agentic AI systems powering forecasting capabilities, uncertainty-aware decision support, scenario planning, and operational decision automation across Amgen.
What You'll Do
- Define and drive the technical strategy for enterprise forecasting and AI decision systems, aligning architecture, reusable platforms, and delivery roadmaps to Amgen's planning, supply, commercial, manufacturing, operations, and processes.
- Design, build, deploy, and scale enterprise-grade machine learning, large language models, and AI agent systems that power forecasting capabilities, uncertainty-aware decision support, scenario planning, and operational decision automation across Amgen.
- Solve highly ambiguous problems, identify high-impact automation opportunities, and translate advanced forecasting, predictive analytics, LLM-powered applications, and AI agent patterns into reliable, governed production solutions that support critical business processes.
- Ship mission-critical AI/ML systems to production, advancing MLOps practices and ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and governance across engineering, data science, product, operations, and senior stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, product, operations, commercial, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver value-driven AI capabilities.
