About the Role Skyworks is seeking a Principal Layout Designer to lead the analog IC layout for wireless consumer products. You will collaborate with design engineers to layout and verify analog and mixed-signal ICs using Cadence Design Environment and Calibre verification tools, in a remote, multi-time-zone setting. The role includes project planning, scope validation, deliverables, and creating manufacturing/assembly documentation within required cycle times. What You'll Do
- Complete work through the use of CAD layout software and produce high-quality layouts in a timely manner
- Work closely with engineers to translate schematics into block-level, macro-level and top-level floorplans, assemblies and verifications
- Lead peers/teams on complex blocks and top-level layouts; communicate regular status updates
- Work across multiple processes; mentor/lead the layout team to ensure high-quality output
- Learn and evaluate new tools/features with minimal supervision; share knowledge via presentations, how-to docs, and training materials
- Recognize common analog structures and floorplan blocks/top levels using best practices; perform floorplanning and verification
- Create presentations and documentation for layout/engineering peers; contribute to policy/methodology improvements
- Prepare layout data for release to foundry when required
- Support other duties as needed What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in layout of integrated circuits
- Strong understanding of basic electrical properties; familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Layout XL, SKILL/Calibre, and Unix
- Intermediate to advanced scripting/programming knowledge; ability to learn new tools with minimal supervision
- Advanced knowledge of layout-dependent effects, device/process matching techniques; top-level assembly of layout
- Strong knowledge of latch-up prevention and ESD protection schemes
- Experience with P&R methods is a plus; excellent communication and presentation skills
- Prior experience in preparing layout data for release to foundry is a plus Nice to Have
- Prior leadership/mentoring experience; ability to guide peers and promote high-quality output
