For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Cumulative service period of nine (9) years’ relevant work experience three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Senior Internal Auditor or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
- Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent qualification from a recognised and accredited institution;
- Member of Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya (IIA) or any other relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing;
- Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognised institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
