About the Role Databricks seeks a leader to shape and execute the vision for Security Engineering within Trust & Safety, helping to keep customer data safe and building a trusted data analytics and ML platform. This role defines strategy, represents the discipline across the company, and engages with academia and industry to advance Databricks' security posture.
What You'll Do
- Identify and plug gaps in Databricks' infrastructure and services to improve safety and resilience.
- Represent the security engineering discipline across the organization and advocate for data-driven security decisions with senior leadership.
- Attract top security talent and help build high-performing teams across functions.
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events to advance the security program.
- Help shape roadmap, policies, and technical direction for data security across large-scale platforms.
- Ensure security program is aligned with Trust & Safety and customer risk considerations.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in two or more of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies (a huge plus).
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience leading across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
Compensation & Benefits
