About the Role Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer - Privacy within Trust & Safety's Security Engineering to shape the vision and strategy for privacy across the platform. The role focuses on strengthening data safety and driving security engineering across the organization, including outreach to academia and industry.
What You'll Do
- Identify and plug key gaps in our infrastructure and services to improve safety and security.
- Attract top security talent from across the industry.
- Represent the security engineering discipline throughout the organization with a strong voice to drive data-driven decisions.
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas and expertise in two or more of the following: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders across the company.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: $220,400—$297,400 USD. The total compensation package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and the listed benefits.
