Job title: Principal Engineer - Privacy
Description: Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer focused on Privacy within the Trust & Safety security engineering team. You will help define strategy and build the vision to make the Databricks platform safer for customers, while leading efforts to plug gaps in infrastructure and services, and representing the security discipline across the organization and at external events.
What You'll Do
- Identify and plug key gaps in infrastructure and services to improve safety for customer data.
- Define and communicate the vision and strategy for privacy and security across the organization.
- Represent the security engineering discipline to senior leaders and external audiences, including academic and industry conferences.
- Attract top security talent and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Drive security initiatives across functional and organizational lines and mentor teams as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in two or more of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain Data Security to senior leaders.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large scale internet companies is a huge plus.
