About the Role
Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer - Privacy to define the vision and strategy for security engineering within Trust & Safety. You will help make Databricks safer for customers by identifying gaps in our infrastructure and services, and you will represent the security organization both internally and externally, including at academic and industry conferences.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute privacy/security strategy; identify and plug gaps in infrastructure and services across Databricks.
- Represent the security engineering discipline across the organization, advocating data-driven security decisions to senior leaders.
- Build and lead cross-functional initiatives; attract top security talent and mentor teams.
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas and expertise in two or more of the following: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders across the company.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: $278,200—$339,250 USD. The total compensation package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits listed above.
