About the Role A principal engineer role in Marvell's Switching Group focused on L2/L3 protocol development for data center and enterprise networks. You will contribute to and lead software development for Marvell Terlaynx and Prestera packet processors, integrating SAI/SONIC open NOS.
What You'll Do
- Technical leader on a fast-paced project team of R&D engineers involved in cloud Datacenter products of Marvell packet processors family.
- Lead all phases of software development from requirement gathering through architect/design, implementation, UT/Functional testing and maintaining multiple software components.
- Contribute to aggressive project goals and schedules; mentor and train team; collaborate with cross-functional groups (Architect, QA/Validation, System Test, Product Management, Documentation, Customer teams).
What We're Looking For
- Extensive technical depth in L2 and L3 Ethernet switching and routing protocols.
- Proficiency in C/C++/Python; hands-on experience with switch/router embedded system software.
- Experience architecting Linux-based embedded products; ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Proven ability to lead distributed teams and run projects across locations.
- Experience in L2 switching/forwarding areas (LAG, VLAN, xSTP, LLDP, Link OAM, ARP, VXLAN, DC fabric switching).
- Experience in L3 unicast/multicast routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, IGMP, BGP, ISIS).
- Familiarity with ACL, QoS, Policers, TCAM.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SONiC/SAI or Open NOS; knowledge of Marvell Terlaynx/Prestera packet processors.
- Prior experience leading distributed teams and working on cloud/datacenter products.
