About the Role HubSpot is growing our Principal and Distinguished Engineering community to tackle high-impact, large-scale systems in the age of AI. This is a leadership-heavy, technically hands-on role focused on solving complex challenges while balancing long-term platform investments with pragmatic delivery.
What You'll Do
- Work on distributed systems that process billions of API calls, messages, and events per day.
- Build machine learning systems powering intelligent automation, recommendations, and personalization.
- Develop innovative generative AI assistants, agents, and workflows to power the future of business.
- Create frontend platforms at scale delivering high-performance, accessible, and extensible UIs.
- Build developer acceleration platforms — CI/CD, testing infrastructure, internal tooling.
- Design data infrastructure for real-time analytics and large-scale data processing.
- Build global, multi-region cloud systems deployed across AWS and other providers.
- Tackle security, reliability, and scaling challenges at every layer of the stack.
- Embrace end-to-end ownership, fast iteration, and system-level accountability; onboarding includes hands-on, in-context ramp-up.
What We're Looking For
- Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale.
- Strong background in machine learning, AI tooling, and data-driven product experiences.
- Interest in unified infrastructure, development tooling, observability, and developer productivity.
- Ability to work across teams with leadership qualities; on-call ownership and accountability.
