Job Description: Microchip is searching for a Principal Engineer - Design to be part of the Networking and Communications Group located in Hauppauge, NY. The candidate will be a contributor in the Networking and Communication Group Design Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches and bridges, USB hubs and power delivery, PCIe bridges, serial interfaces (SerDes) and other connectivity interfaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or equivalent Engineering with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in Ethernet, USB, and/or PCIe
- Digital design projects using Verilog/System Verilog
- Proficient in Verilog/System Verilog
- Experience with the ASIC design and/or verification flow
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and documentation skills
- Excellent problem solving, debugging and organization skills
- Must be highly motivated and able to work in a collaborative group environment
Preferred:
- Understanding of USB (USB3.0, USB2.0), USB Power Delivery, PCIe, Ethernet (10/100/1G BASE-T and 1G-25G SerDes)
- Peripherals interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
- Experience with simulation and simulation tools
- Experience with Xilinx FPGA emulation and debug
