About the Role The Principal Engineer - Azure Storage at Microsoft contributes to the design and delivery of Azure Storage capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable scalable, reliable data services for customers. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership to shape the future of cloud storage. What You'll Do
- Drive architecture and implementation of storage features across the Azure Storage platform.
- Collaborate with product, program management, and site reliability engineering teams to define roadmaps, ensure reliability, security, and performance.
- Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
- prototype innovative storage solutions and help optimize operating efficiency in production. What We're Looking For
- Deep experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems, preferably in cloud storage or related data services.
- Proven technical leadership with a track record of delivering complex features end-to-end.
- Proficiency in languages and technologies common to Azure engineering (e.g., C++, C#, .NET) and in-depth understanding of storage systems, resilience, and performance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to influence across teams.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure Storage services (Blob, Queue, Table) and data-plane concerns.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance requirements in cloud environments.
