About the Role Databricks is seeking a senior leader to craft and execute a long-term north-star vision for Authentication, balancing uncompromised security with a frictionless user experience. You will recruit and mentor top engineering talent, and serve as the voice of Security Engineering across the company, influencing executives and shaping security strategy. Databricks’ security innovations will be showcased at major academic and industry conferences.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute a long-term authentication vision that aligns with security and product goals
- Scale security infrastructure by leading architecture and engineering efforts
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent across teams
- Represent Security Engineering in cross-functional leadership discussions and data-driven decisions
- Communicate security strategy to senior leaders and external audiences; contribute to external conferences
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas and expertise in two or more of the following: Authentication, Network, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response
- 15+ years building large-scale distributed systems with high availability
- Leadership experience to lead across functional and organizational lines
- Strong communication skills to evangelize data security to senior leaders
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
- This role is open to remote candidates
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: $280,000—$385,000 USD
- Total compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits
