About the Role Databricks is seeking a Principal Engineer, Authentication to define and execute a long-term north-star vision for Authentication, balancing uncompromised security with a frictionless user experience.
What You'll Do
- Craft and execute a long-term north-star vision for Authentication that balances security with a frictionless user experience.
- Recruit and mentor top-tier engineering talent to scale our security infrastructure.
- Act as the voice of Security Engineering across the organization, driving data-driven decisions at the executive level.
- Represent Databricks' security innovations at major academic and industry conferences.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas, with expertise in at least two areas (e.g., Authentication, Network, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response).
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines; strong communication skills to evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
- This role is open to remote candidates.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: $266,000—$365,750 USD.
- The total compensation package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
