About this role
Job title: Principal Architect
About the Role Join SimCorp as a Platform Test Architect responsible for extending the integration layer of SimCorp One. You will design and deliver a shared platform for automated integration testing across Azure, AKS, and .NET, enabling scalable, repeatable tests and quality gates after code merges.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver a shared integration testing platform for SimCorp One services (Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service, .NET) to enable teams to add, run, and automate cross-system tests efficiently.
- Operationalize post-merge quality gates, including contract/API testing, integration suites, and sanity/smoke tests, and define processes for exceptions/waivers.
- Standardize testing capabilities across the ecosystem and define how systems test integration patterns.
- Drive organization-wide adoption through templates, reference implementations, and best practices.
- Define strategy for test data and environments (synthetic data, data masking, production-equivalent snapshots) with operations and platform teams.
- Lay groundwork for performance and load testing as a future phase, including tooling choices, SLAs, and monitoring.
- Document and align at scale with reference architectures, patterns, playbooks, and publish via Architecture Hub; measure adoption and impact.
What We're Looking For
- Integration testing experience: building integration testing capabilities for service-based architectures at scale (B2B or SaaS).
- Cloud and platform expertise: experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service; strong .NET background.
- Testing strategies: knowledge of black/grey/white box testing, consumer-driven contract testing, integration layering, pipeline governance, and quality gates.
- Test data management: experience with synthetic data, data masking, and environment design for testability.
- Testing economy: experience with shift-left, optimizing cost-of-testing, and trade-offs in testing approaches.
- Automation mindset: automation-first mindset with history of improving lead-time-for-changes, reducing escaped defects, and increasing recovery speed.
- Stakeholder management: ability to drive consensus across platform, application, SRE, and product teams; resilient in ambiguity.
- Performance and security testing: experience with performance/load testing, resilience testing, or security testing integration is a plus.
- Compliance and best practices: exposure to SOC2 or DORA is beneficial but not required.
- Developer experience: experience curating recommended practices and developer experience artifacts.
