Job title: Primary Therapist (Licensed or Non-Licensed)
About the Role The Primary Therapist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating a range of therapies to support adolescents and young adults within Newport Healthcare's framework. The role emphasizes collaboration with families and the treatment team to ensure high-quality clinical support.
What You'll Do
- Clinical Communication: Serve as the primary clinical contact for families, maintaining proactive and clear communication regarding the client’s progress and treatment.
- Therapeutic Facilitation: Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions using the organization’s clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy principles; lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
- Assessment and Planning: Complete risk assessments and initial safety plans at admission; conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans within established timelines; collaborate with the treatment team on goals and 30-day plan reviews.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries per standards.
- Crisis Management: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide appropriate intervention to ensure client safety.
- Team Collaboration: Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision to enhance team dynamics and treatment efficacy.
- Data Management: Accurately enter and save data using Microsoft Word, Outlook, EMR, and online learning platforms.
- Professional Development: Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited/state-approved graduate school.
- Licensed or ability to transfer license in Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology in the state where services are provided.
- Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
- Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Nice to Have
- Trauma/substance/eating-disorder experience preferred.
- Experience with Attachment-Based Family Therapy principles is a plus.
