Salud Para La Gente is a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center serving the vibrant, predominantly Spanish-speaking communities of California’s Monterey Bay. Since opening as a storefront free clinic in Watsonville in 1978, we’ve grown into an 11-site health network with 500+ employees—without losing the community roots that started it all.
We’re looking for a compassionate Internal Medicine Physician who wants primary care to feel personal again: build relationships, care for a diverse patient population, and practice alongside a collaborative team committed to making excellent healthcare accessible to everyone.

DIRECT PATIENT CARE:
- Build and manage an adult patient panel, providing comprehensive, patient-centered primary care.
- Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients through exams, diagnostic testing, medications, immunizations and lifestyle counseling.
- Perform procedures within documented training and clinical privileges.
- Collaborate across Salud’s integrated services, including Behavioral Health, Dental, OB and Community Health Services.
- Coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up care when appropriate.
- Respond to urgent and emergent clinical situations.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Partner with scheduling and leadership to meet access and productivity expectations.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:
- Adhere to clinic communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with people of different racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and lifestyles
- Demonstrate professional and productive collaboration with healthcare team
- May assist with recruitment of physicians/advanced practice clinicians
- May be asked to support learners (eg. students, residents)
- May form liaisons with appropriate professional societies, educational institutions and community organizations to enhance clinic ability to deliver medical care to target population.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement efforts and safety, environmental and infection control standards
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state patient confidentiality laws
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid CA Physician's License
- Maintain an updated CPR certificate, valid California driver's license, and valid DEA license; submit copies of renewed licenses and certificates to Human Resources.
- Board Certified or Board Qualified in Internal Medicine, preferred.

- Fluent Spanish/English.
- Bi-cultural Spanish/English
Compensation Details
$278K–$313K
Benefit package: available to all regular Salud employees working 24+ hours per week. Part-time employees may receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.
