About the Role Kalepa is seeking a Pricing & Rating Platform Engineer to help optimize rating workflows and deliver accurate terms for every risk. This role focuses on automating inputs, reducing manual rework, and enabling review, editing, and finalization of quotes within a flexible platform that supports multiple rating formats and workflows. Trusted by top-tier insurers and proven in production, this role connects pricing strategy to underwriting outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement end-to-end rating workflows that auto-populate inputs and eliminate manual data entry.
- Enable review, editing, and finalization of quotes immediately, accelerating time-to-price.
- Support preferred rating formats and workflows: embed Excel models, connect to external engines, or manage rating natively within the platform.
- Use built-in version control to compare multiple quote scenarios and provide total end-to-end visibility into pricing iterations.
- Analyze how pricing and terms influence bind likelihood and profitability to focus on submissions that are competitively positioned and economically attractive.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with insurance rating and pricing, and a strong understanding of rating engines and workflows.
- Ability to embed Excel models and/or connect to external rating engines; comfortable working with native platform rating.
- Familiarity with version control and multi-scenario quote comparisons.
- Analytical mindset to link pricing decisions to profitability and submission likelihood.
- Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and underwriting teams in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with insurtech platforms or insurance software.
