The Price and Cost Operations Specialist is a vital role for Univar Solutions, supporting Product Management and Sales by managing accurate implementation of customer specific pricing records and supplier cost contracts. This position owns precise and timely customer specific pricing records through reviewing and compiling data, as well as executing market and value driven price changes. With regards to supplier cost contracts, this role owns the accuracy of cost contracts (vendor cost, vendor payment terms, incoterms, accessorial charges) within the system by analyzing supplier records, reviewing purchase order discrepancies, and collaborating with Product Managers. Both components of this position are instrumental to maximizing profitability of Univar Solutions through accurate customer invoicing and vendor payments.
The Price and Cost Operations Specialist must be able to use independent thinking, business acumen and technical knowledge to resolve sell price and cost contract issues through sell price analysis, purchase order discrepancy review, and cadenced audit processes that include supplier audits and sales history reviews. This individual must be able to apply technical and vendor knowledge to coordinate supplier announced increases and customer-specific value driven price changes and is responsible for ad hoc analysis to ensure financial benefits to the organization. This role supports net working capital goals by reviewing and resolving discrepancies between vendor invoices and Univar Solutions’ purchase orders and analyzing for trends to mitigate reoccurrence.
