Role Overview

The Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship Compliance Specialist supports and oversees prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance for renewable energy projects subject to federal, state, and contractual labor requirements. This professional serves as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and compliance consultants to ensure compliance obligations are fully understood, monitored, and satisfied. The position requires strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving compliance issues before they impact project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance activities for assigned renewable energy projects.

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and third-party compliance consultants to ensure all compliance requirements are understood and fulfilled.

• Review consultant deliverables, compliance reports, and project documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.

• Monitor project compliance status, milestones, and reporting deadlines, escalating risks and delays as appropriate.

• Track and manage outstanding compliance issues, corrective actions, and documentation requests through resolution.

• Review certified payrolls, apprenticeship records, and supporting documentation to verify compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements.

• Validate wage classifications, fringe benefit contributions, apprenticeship utilization, and other labor compliance requirements in accordance with applicable regulations and contractual obligations.

• Compare contractor and consultant submissions against project tax, finance, legal, and contractual requirements.

• Compile compliance status reports, executive summaries, and risk assessments for project management and leadership teams.

• Maintain and update compliance dashboards and tracking tools to support project reporting and decision-making.

• Facilitate recurring compliance meetings with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to review project status, deficiencies, corrective actions, and upcoming deliverables.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Experience: Demonstrated experience in project coordination, identifying compliance risks, implementing corrective action plans, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve compliance objectives.

Skills

• Proficiency in compliance tracking tools, dashboards, reporting systems, and Microsoft Word.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing third-party compliance consultants, auditors, or professional service providers.

• Experience supporting Inflation Reduction Act Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship compliance programs.

• Experience working with engineering, construction, tax, legal, and finance stakeholders on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
