About the Role
The incumbent is responsible for the overall health and safety of the preschoolers in the program. S/He works as a member of the classroom team in forming trusting relationships with the children and families, developing lesson plans, ongoing assessment, and general classroom management. The position reports to the Center Director and works under direct supervision, with no supervisory responsibilities. What You'll Do

Develop trusting relationships with the children and families by creating a positive, nurturing environment; encourage family involvement and support development of relationships between children and families.

Plan and implement daily learning experiences that advance intellectual and physical development, including literacy, phonemic and print awareness, language development, vocabulary, early math and science, problem solving, and approaches to learning.

Welcome and support families as primary educators; provide opportunities for family participation in curriculum outside of the classroom; encourage engagement through volunteering, curriculum development, and planning.

Provide positive guidance following PBIS; initiate referrals for mental health or behavioral concerns as needed.

Attend not less than 15 clock hours of classroom-focused professional development; complete not less than 18 hours annually to meet NH licensing requirements; work with supervisory staff on professional development plans.

Explore outside training opportunities to meet development plans; participate fully in training opportunities.

Maintain professional relationships with all participants and co-workers; communicate professionally and tactfully; function as part of a team.

Build partnerships with families within professional boundaries; communicate program policies and procedures.

Assure completion of teaching responsibilities including developmental and behavioral screenings within 45 days of starting and ongoing assessments.

Plan weekly and daily classroom activities (teacher-initiated and child-initiated) to meet individual needs and interests.

Plan and implement 2 nutrition lessons per month; facilitate Family Style Meals per guidelines.

Complete 4 family visits per year (2 home visits and 2 center visits); coordinate with Family Worker for a team approach.

Maintain classroom paperwork (lesson plans, bleach logs, meal tallies, attendance).

Maintain Health and Nutrition Binder and medication records; know health and nutrition conditions of children.

Understand and follow Emergency Preparedness Procedures.

Participate in center team responsibilities (onsite field trips, parent meetings, classroom learning centers, cleaning, Family Engagement initiatives).

Conduct recruitment efforts as assigned; attend center staff meetings and training; attend LEA meetings as necessary.

Change diapers when appropriate, maintaining proper hygiene (gloves, hand-washing).

Maintain CPR and First Aid training; be designated Center Director for NH Licensing Bureau as assigned.

Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries; gather intake information for referrals to CAPHR programs.

Perform other related duties as required. What We're Looking For

Salary range: $21.42 - $26.18 per hour (USD).
