About the Role The University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, seeks a part-time Pre-Clinical/Clinical Faculty member in Pediatric Dentistry to support teaching and clinical supervision for predoctoral students. The position is 0.5 to 2 days per week, 40 weeks per year, onsite in Sacramento, and includes responsibility for the DAU program alongside pediatric dentistry instruction. Some travel to San Francisco may be required for calibration or faculty development.

What You'll Do

• Provide preclinical instruction in pediatric dentistry and oversight of the DAU program, taught concurrently with pediatric dentistry.
• Deliver clinical instruction in the pediatric clinic and contribute to specialty preparatory activities.
• Teach activities in interdisciplinary courses and other departments as assigned.
• Support outreach and community activities, including collaboration with SCOPE and other groups.
• Manage workload with scheduling flexibility; participation in scholarship and service encouraged.
• Travel to San Francisco may be required for calibration, faculty development, or other needs as determined by the Department chair.

What We're Looking For

• DDS/DMD or international equivalent; degree from an ADA-accredited school preferred.
• Certificate or Master’s degree indicating successful completion of an ADA-accredited pediatric dentistry specialty program is required.
• Current, active license to practice dentistry and valid CPR certification.
• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is desirable, but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient and student population; work independently and as part of a team; maintain confidentiality; demonstrate professional judgment.
• Sincere desire to learn from and teach students in a humanistic educational model; interest in organized dentistry and community outreach; willingness to participate in professional education beyond the school as appropriate.

Nice to Have

• Board certification by the ABPD is desirable but not required.
• Involvement in organized dentistry and ongoing professional education beyond the school.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hiring range: $65 per hour.
• Part-time teacher-clinician emphasis on teaching with encouragement of scholarship and service; travel to SF may be required for calibration or development activities.
