Practice & Technical Support Manager – Tax Practice
About the Role
- We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Practice & Technical Support Manager – Tax Practice to lead the technical and operational management of the firm's Tax Practice.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of tax engagements, providing technical guidance, managing client relationships, supporting team performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the growth of the Tax Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tax computations, advisory work, and compliance assignments covering CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other applicable taxes.
- Provide technical guidance on Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and tax authority directives.
- Manage client engagements from onboarding through completion, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Review engagement files, tax opinions, reports, and client submissions for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate tax audits, investigations, queries, objections, and correspondence with relevant tax authorities.
- Monitor team workload, performance, utilisation, and professional development.
- Identify technical and operational risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain engagement trackers, tax dispute trackers, and other practice management records.
- Support business development through client meetings, proposals, presentations, and identification of additional tax opportunities.
- Prepare monthly reports covering WIP, engagements, outstanding deliverables, tax issues, staff utilisation, client complaints, and business development activities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop tax staff through training and technical reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting or a related field.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) is mandatory.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant tax experience, preferably within a tax advisory, accounting, or consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and tax compliance requirements.
- roven experience handling tax audits, investigations, and engagements with tax authorities.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and client-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Salary
N500,000 – N600,000 Monthly
