Location: Apodaca, NLE, MX, 66614 Company: Corning

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.

This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose Support the Environmental, Health, and Safety team in identifying and documenting hazardous energy sources and safety controls for machinery and equipment. This role will help improve workplace safety through field observations, technical documentation, and collaboration with different teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field observations and collect equipment information

  • Identify energy sources and isolation points for machinery and equipment

  • Support the development and update of safety procedures

  • Organize technical information, photographs, and documentation

  • Collaborate with EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams

  • Track activities, document reviews, and pending actions

  • Prepare progress reports and communication materials

  • Support safety awareness and training activities

  • Required Career Active student pursuing a degree in:

  • Industrial Engineering

  • Environmental Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Industrial Safety

  • Maintenance Engineering

  • Other related engineering fields

  • Desired Skills

  • Interest in industrial safety and manufacturing processes

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication and teamwork

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Willingness to perform field activities

  • Basic technical English is preferred

  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic diagrams is a plus

  • Previous professional experience is not required
