The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, has strong technical presentation design skills, and can translate existing brand direction into polished, user-friendly presentation systems. This is initially a project-based freelance engagement, with potential opportunities for ongoing support with presentation development and event-related materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • PowerPoint Template Development: Rebuild and refine PowerPoint master slides and templates to create consistent, reusable, and user-friendly presentation systems.
  • Template Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, formatting inconsistencies, layout bugs, and functionality problems in existing presentation files.
  • Master Slide Creation: Develop new master decks from existing brand references and design direction, ensuring templates are structured correctly and easy to maintain.
  • Presentation Layout & Formatting: Create supporting presentation decks with specialty slide layouts that accommodate a variety of content and presentation needs.
  • Brand Consistency: Apply established brand guidelines, typography, colors, and visual standards while improving readability, usability, and overall presentation quality.
  • Accessibility & Readability: Ensure slides are clear, legible, professionally formatted, and effective for live presentations and diverse audiences.
  • Quality Assurance: Test templates and master slides to ensure layouts, formatting, and functionality remain consistent when users add, edit, or copy content.
  • Presentation Refinement: Review and polish existing PowerPoint decks, correcting formatting issues and improving slide consistency before presentations and major company events.
  • Collaboration & Handoff: Work with marketing stakeholders to understand requirements, incorporate feedback, and deliver finalized templates that internal teams can confidently maintain and use.
  • Ongoing Presentation Support: Potentially provide additional presentation cleanup, formatting, and quality assurance for larger events involving multiple presentation decks.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, including slide masters, master layouts, and template development.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex or inconsistent PowerPoint templates.
  • Strong understanding of presentation design principles, typography, color usage, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to improve readability and functionality while working within existing brand guidelines.
  • Experience creating reusable templates and standardized presentation systems for internal teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage project milestones, and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
  • Experience supporting corporate marketing presentations, executive decks, or large-scale event presentations is a plus.

Project Details

  • Engagement Type: Freelance, project-based contract.
  • Initial Scope: Approximately two weeks at 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours for revisions and refinements.
  • Potential Extension: Additional presentation polishing and production support for major company events, including projects involving approximately 10–15 presentation decks.
  • Work Arrangement: Remote; candidates may be located in any U.S. time zone.

Ideal Candidate

A PowerPoint expert who can quickly diagnose template issues, rebuild master slides from the ground up when needed, and deliver polished, functional presentation systems that are easy for non-designers to use. The ideal candidate combines technical PowerPoint proficiency with strong design judgment, prioritizes readability and consistency, and can work efficiently within an established brand identity without unnecessarily redesigning it.
