Job title: Poultry Litter Service Technician

About the Role Bachoco USA is seeking a Poultry Litter Service Technician to perform litter removal on broiler farms. The role involves operating tractors and equipment, transporting gear to farms, and coordinating with growers to ensure safe, timely service.

What You'll Do

  • Operate agricultural tractors and specialized equipment required for poultry litter removal.
  • Perform basic inspections and maintenance of the tractor and equipment before and after each job.
  • Load, secure, and transport the tractor and equipment using a trailer to designated farm locations; ensure compliance with safety regulations and company protocols.
  • Maintain the trailer and towing vehicle in proper working condition.
  • Coordinate with farm growers to ensure necessary preparations before starting work on each farm.
  • Identify and report hazards; follow safety procedures and wear PPE; inform Technicians of incidents, mechanical failures, or safety concerns.
  • Provide timely updates on work progress and document completed services, noting any complications or deviations from the original plan; maintain clear communication with Technicians and farm growers.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in poultry farming or waste management, particularly in litter handling.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of poultry operations, including biosecurity protocols, animal welfare, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to operate machinery and tools related to litter management.
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license, and qualify for the company driving program.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, use of hands; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; vision requirements; must not be afraid of heights.
  • Work Environment: Poultry barns and outdoor facilities; noisy with dust, odors, and varying temperatures; occasional on-call availability; loud environment.
