About this role
Postdoctoral Scholar - Penn State Biomedical Engineering
The Pritchard Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The scholar will lead in vivo mouse studies at the interface of evolution, synthetic biology, and targeted therapy, supporting an NIH-funded program (5 year grant) that develops "selection gene drives," a regulated gene therapy that partners with standard-of-care targeted therapies to overcome drug resistance. The successful candidate will design and execute efficacy and safety studies across cell line-derived xenograft (CDX), orthotopic, patient-derived xenograft (PDX), and immune-competent syngeneic models, including intravenous vector delivery, in vivo imaging (IVIS, micro-CT), and pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and toxicology cohorts.
Qualified individuals will hold a Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Biomedical Engineering or a related scientific field and will have extensive hands-on experience with mouse tumor models and in vivo techniques including IP, IV and SC injections, oral gavage, as well as modern molecular biology.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
