Job title: Postdoctoral Researcher
About the Role The Postdoctoral Researcher will be a key member of the Neuroengineering Research and Dynamics (NERD) lab, led by Principal Investigator Sherif Elbasiouny at Wright State University. This role involves hands-on animal research focusing on motor neuron diseases, with a primary emphasis on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). It will combine independent project work with significant collaboration within an interdisciplinary team utilizing techniques such as modeling, electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, drug studies, and behavioral analysis.
What You'll Do
- Conduct hands-on animal research focusing on motor neuron diseases (ALS) within the NERD lab.
- Pursue an independent personal research project while contributing to collaborative team efforts.
- Apply and develop techniques including modeling, electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, drug studies, and behavioral analysis.
- Be trained in or demonstrate experience with required procedures; contribute to a highly collaborative environment with excellent communication.
- Collaborate with the PI and interdisciplinary team to design experiments, analyze data, and present findings.

- Demonstrated experience in experimental design, execution, and interpretation in relevant models.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Minimum Hourly Rate $40,000.00; Salary Band RS S05; 100% FTE; USD.
