Position Overview

The Musculoskeletal Biomechanics & Rehabilitation Lab in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral scholar. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and evaluation of rehabilitation technologies and interventions to improve mobility and balance.

This position is funded for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The postdoctoral scholar will work closely with Dr. Ying Fang and collaborators across Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, design and execute research studies, procedures and protocols.

Assist with IRB protocols, participant recruitment, data collection and analysis, and documentation.

Prepare conference abstracts and manuscripts.

Participate in regular meetings with principal investigator and research team.

Mentor and supervise laboratory personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) or appropriate terminal degree. Must possess strong communication and analytical skills; thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures; and the ability to implement research projects. Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong background in rehabilitation engineering and biomechanics.

Experience with human movement analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, or rehabilitation device development and evaluation.

Strong programming skills.

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, interdisciplinary research team.
