About the Role A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available in the Edwards Lab in the University of Michigan's Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. The role uses Xenopus, mouse, and pluripotent stem cell models, gene editing, and microscopy to study the disease genetics and developmental biology of the trachea and esophagus. The fellow will independently design experiments, generate and analyze data, and provide leadership within the lab, while receiving advanced scientific training under PI Dr. Nicole Edwards. What You'll Do
- Independently: Design experiments
- Direct data generation and analysis
- Write the first draft of research manuscripts with input and feedback from the PI
- Present experimental results
- Provide leadership to other lab members and contribute new expertise to the lab What We're Looking For
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., developmental biology, genetics, cell biology)
- Demonstrated ability to independently design experiments and manage data
- Experience with developmental biology models (Xenopus, mouse) and pluripotent stem cells, gene editing, and microscopy
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
