Job title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Freed-Pastor Lab
About the Role The Freed-Pastor Laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly-motivated, creative, and collaborative postdoctoral research fellow to join the team. The lab investigates how pancreatic cancer escapes immune eradication and guides novel therapies for pancreatic cancer patients, employing cutting-edge technologies and human patient-derived biospecimens. The successful candidate will lead independent research projects and contribute to an inclusive, innovative research environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead independent research projects focused on tumor immunology and pancreatic cancer treatment.
- Design, plan, and execute experiments using cutting-edge technologies (immunopeptidomics, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, T cell engineering, CRISPR).
- Analyze data, report progress and deliverables, and communicate findings in written and oral formats.
- Train, supervise, and mentor staff as needed; collaborate with team members to advance the field.
- Develop innovative approaches to advance tumor immunology and pancreatic cancer therapy.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or doctoral equivalent in immunology, cancer biology, or related field.
- Demonstrated scientific contributions and problem-solving ability.
- Clarity of thought in written and oral communication; strong collaboration skills.
- Background in immunology and/or tumor immunology; experience with T cell engineering (CAR-T, TCR-T) and/or immunopeptidomics is preferred (but not required).
Nice to Have
- Experience with organoids and patient-derived biospecimens and in vivo models is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 72,000.00 – 76,385.00 per year.
- Onsite role based at Dana-Farber (Boston) with access to institute resources and collaborators.
