About the Role The Production Planning Supervisor coordinates and supervises production control activities to ensure effective execution of the production plan, material availability, and smooth operations. This role collaborates with program teams, manufacturing, and cross-functional partners (procurement, logistics, engineering, quality) with a strong focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement. What You'll Do
- Lead daily production control activities to support execution of the production plan and decision-making on the shop floor.
- Manage and develop the production control team (coaching, training, mentoring); assign workload and adjust for priorities and unplanned events.
- Monitor KPIs and drive an on-time delivery culture; identify idle situations and provide analysis to support priority setting and trade-off decisions.
- Quickly identify and highlight execution constraints (e.g., missing kits, unavailable parts, material blockers) and trigger actions with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure data accuracy for statuses in tracking tools (ERP systems, dashboards, reports) to maintain reliable operational alignment.
- Coordinate work distribution, ensure smooth workflow, quality, and adherence to delivery schedules; participate in team meetings and track action items.
- Represent the team with internal customers and liaise with management for special situations; document non-conformities or deviations impacting execution.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; propose and deploy process improvements and support updates to standards.
- Contribute to structured problem-solving activities (root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions) and relevant performance indicators. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or coordination role within manufacturing, planning, or production control.
- 5–7 years of experience within a production planning and control organization.
- Strong knowledge of production management principles, planning, and control.
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, MES, and supply chain management tools.
- Bilingual French and English; ability to transact with suppliers outside Quebec.
- Security clearance eligibility: able to obtain and maintain security clearance at SECRET Level II or Reliability status and CGP clearance. Compensation & Benefits
