We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Portfolio Growth Officer

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt - Rivers, Aba - Abia, Akwa Ibom - Uyo, Delta - Warri, Ibadan - Oyo, Kaduna, Enugu, and Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned zero-utilised, dormant, suspended, underutilised, and growth-potential merchant accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned merchants.
  • Analyse merchant activity, financing needs, repayment history, and account restrictions to identify reasons for inactivity.
  • Develop and execute merchant reactivation strategies to drive first and repeat credit utilisation.
  • Conduct targeted field visits to verify businesses, strengthen relationships, and resolve issues requiring physical intervention.
  • Collaborate with Retention, Operations, Credit, and Risk teams to resolve KYC, documentation, repayment, and account-related issues.
  • Monitor early-stage repayments and escalate delinquency in line with approved policies.
  • Suspend utilisation activities where there are identified credit or risk concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date portfolio records and performance trackers.
  • Protect merchant information and ensure compliance with approved processes and controls.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sustainable portfolio utilisation and revenue.
  • Minimise repeated inactivity across the assigned merchant portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in relationship management, field sales, SME lending, portfolio management, or financial services.

  • Good understanding of merchant businesses, working-capital cycles, customer activation, and repayment management.

  • Proven ability to identify customer challenges, handle objections, and convert opportunities into measurable commercial results.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-management, and field-execution skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and performance tracking tools.

  • Willingness to travel regularly and work across assigned commercial territories.

  • Remuneration

  • Salary: N203,000 monthly

  • Benefits: HMO, Transport allowance of N50,000.
