Job title: Population Health Consultant
About the Role The Population Health Consultant supports employer clients by developing and advancing customized population health strategies through analysis of demographics, health culture, health claims, prevalent disease states and other factors impacting health care costs. The role focuses on delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction and collaborating with client teams to align health risk management initiatives with business and HR objectives.
What You'll Do
- Collect and review clients' qualitative and quantitative indicators of current and potential health risk, including demographics and medical/pharmacy claims data, to identify opportunities to improve population health risks and develop presentations for clients.
- Lead the development of strategy around health risk management for complex client scenarios.
- Collaborate with Lockton account teams, Producers and specialty practices to ensure opportunities align with the client’s business and HR objectives.
- Maintain a broad understanding of the brokerage/consulting business and stay client-driven.
- Deliver RFPs, presentations and correspondence with minimal supervision, adapting delivery to the audience and emphasizing key data points when appropriate.
- Proactively identify challenges and resolve problems quickly, energetically and creatively when necessary.
- Provide ongoing strategic direction to clients and account teams during vendor selection or implementation projects.
- Maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities and programs that support health risk management.
- Stay up-to-date on compliance regulations affecting health risk programs and appropriate approaches to employee incentives.
- Seek ways to improve work processes; balance creativity with efficiency.
- Seek assistance from Population Health Strategies Director, Unit/Team Leader and other associates as needed to address client and project needs.
- Coach, train and develop AAM, AA and other associates as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; industry knowledge preferred.
- 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in benefits and/or population health strategies.
- Ability to communicate goals, status and deliverables with team members and management, including senior executives as needed.
- Professional experience and knowledge of HR and/or Benefits procedures, business protocol, web-based software applications and systems integration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to document processes clearly.
- Ability to tailor persuasion, conciliation or assertiveness as needed and react appropriately.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to resolve critical project issues and protect client interests and timelines; strong time management, initiative and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel; strong experience with PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Teams.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings as needed (anticipated travel under 20%).
Nice to Have
- Industry knowledge preferred.
- Experience with vendor management or population health program implementations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $130,000-$160,000 per year.
- Eligible for annual performance bonus, based on organizational and individual performance.
