About the Role The Town of Purcellville is seeking a DCJS-certified lateral Police Officer to patrol, investigate crimes, enforce laws, and support the safety of the public. This role operates under the Police Sergeant and includes protecting the community, gathering evidence, and maintaining reports and records. What You'll Do
- Conduct patrols and respond to incidents as assigned
- Investigate criminal activity and enforce applicable laws
- Prepare, maintain, and file reports and financial records; testify in court as needed
- Collect and preserve evidence; assist in investigations
- Operate under moderate supervision and coordinate with the Police Department What We're Looking For
- Virginia DCJS law enforcement certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass physical and polygraph examinations
- Ability to obtain VCIN/NCIC, CPR, First Aid, and RADAR training
- Ability to lift over 100 lbs Nice to Have
- Familiarity with VCIN/NCIC systems Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $64,000 to $103,000 per year
- Onsite, Full-Time position in Purcellville, VA
